Frank Coles, new Transas CEO Frank Coles, new Transas CEO

Former president of Inmarsat Maritime Frank Coles is back with a bang, having been formally announced as the new CEO of maritime navigation technology company Transas.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}Mr Coles will act as chief executive officer and member of the board of directors for Transas Marine approximately one year after leaving his post at Inmarsat.

Prior to taking up this post with Transas he has been working as an advisor to a number of private equity companies on maritime opportunities, and was also CEO of Globe Wireless for many years before working with Inmarsat.

In his earlier life, after 12 years at sea Mr Coles spent five years as a maritime lawyer, and then worked as operations director for Pacific Basin Bulk Shipping in Hong Kong. He is a Master Mariner, and holds a Master’s Degree in Maritime Law from the University of Wales, Cardiff.
