Indonesian surveillance vessels to install ECDIS

Transas ECDIS has been selected for installation on board 20 Indonesian surveillance vessels, the company reports.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The ships, operated by the Directorate General of Marine Resources and Fisheries Surveillance, part of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (PSDKP – KKP), will have the new ECDIS systems integrated with sensors such as GPS, gyro, speed log, and an AIS transponder that can be operated in silent mode.

“Fitting the surveillance vessels with ECDIS will help us to better monitor the Indonesian waters and support prevention of illegal fishing, which is one of key issues for the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries,” said the director general of Marine Resources and Fisheries Surveillance, Asep Burhanudin.

The systems will be supplied and installed by Transas’ local partner PT MultiIntegra.{/mprestriction}
