GNS launches Voyager 7

Global Navigation Solutions (GNS) has launched a new version of Voyager, its navigation software solution, with Voyager 7 representing a fundamental rebuild of the software in comparison with earlier versions.

The application’s route planning functionality has been simplified, and installation can be performed via a variety of formats – DVD, USB and web download. Synchronisation with the Voyager Management Service (VMS) has also been added.

A new home page presents a list of the most frequently used Voyager tools, with options to add others, and the route planning component has been simplified.

“During development we analysed the number of clicks and time spent to complete individual tasks, such as route planning and maintaining corrections.  The results allowed us to implement significant opportunities to improve bridge team efficiency.  The feedback we’ve had so far from mariners has been phenomenal,” said GNS chief information officer, Phil Stothard.{/mprestriction}
