12 vessels, 30 routes: Corsica Ferries automates onboard audio with Seafy

Corsica Ferries has introduced Seafy’s Multiroom Audio System across its onboard operations, using AI-generated multilingual announcements to reduce manual communication work for crew and manage audio from a single platform.

The system works with the ferry operator’s existing speakers and cabling, giving the fleet a software layer for announcements, background music, service messages and commercial content without requiring a replacement of onboard audio infrastructure.

The MAS system allows crew to create an announcement once and automatically generate versions in multiple languages. Messages can then be scheduled or broadcast in real time across different areas of a vessel, with individual audio zones managed separately.

For a ferry operator running up to 30 crossings a day, the operational case is less about adding another passenger-facing system and more about removing repetitive work from onboard teams. Corsica Ferries operates 12 vessels across 30 routes and carried 3.5 million passengers in 2024.

The system also connects with Seafy’s Radio platform, allowing music, branded communications and other content to reach both the onboard passenger portal and physical spaces such as lounges, bars and common areas.

Sebastien Romani, CEO, Corsica Ferries, said: “Investing in the Multiroom Audio System confirms our Company’s ongoing commitment to technological innovation in service of people: passengers and crew alike.

“Passengers will benefit from clearer, more timely and more reliable announcements, while onboard staff will be able to dedicate more time to hospitality activities.”

The project also shows how shipowners can add software-led automation without rebuilding existing vessel infrastructure. Corsica Ferries and Seafy plan to extend MAS to other onboard functions in the coming months.
