Grimaldi Lines has completed the rollout of Seafy’s Digital Experience Platform across its 13-ship passenger fleet, replacing its traditional Wi-Fi portal with a single digital gateway designed to improve onboard connectivity and access to passenger services.
The platform allows passengers to connect from any internet-enabled device without downloading a dedicated application. Through a single access point, travellers can obtain voyage information, purchase Wi-Fi packages and use contactless payment methods including Apple Pay, Google Pay and Revolut Pay. The upgrade also improves connection stability and speed during voyages, supporting a more consistent onboard internet service.
The deployment places digital passenger services higher on Grimaldi Lines’ agenda as ferry operators seek to improve customer engagement through connected onboard platforms rather than standalone Wi-Fi portals.
“For Grimaldi Lines, innovation means putting technology at the service of travel. Digitalization is playing an increasingly important role in the evolution of the services we offer our passengers, and the completion of this project confirms our commitment to investing in solutions that make the travel experience simpler, more accessible, and aligned with the expectations of an increasingly connected customer base,” said Francesca Marino, Head of Passenger Department at Grimaldi Lines.
Seafy said the platform is designed as an expandable digital environment that can support additional services throughout the passenger journey.
“With Grimaldi Lines, we have developed a Digital Experience Platform capable of creating a continuous point of contact between the company and passengers throughout the entire journey. Our goal is to provide an infrastructure that can evolve over time, supporting new customer relationship models and driving the digital transformation of the onboard experience,” said Roberto Verni, CEO of Seafy.
The rollout follows continued growth for Seafy, which said its platform served 11.4 million users in 2025 and recorded a 58% increase in activated connections between 2024 and 2025. The company also provides more than 16 digital modules for maritime operators, illustrating how passenger connectivity is expanding beyond internet access into a broader digital service environment.
