Astrium Services has been announced as the new Global Sponsor of the 2014 Digital Ship conference and exhibition series, beginning with the next event in Hamburg in February.

The global series of two-day Digital Ship maritime technology conferences and exhibitions will feature seven events in 2014, with the Hamburg conference followed by events in Bergen, Cyprus, Korea, Japan and Singapore over the course of the year before the final conference in Athens in November.

Astrium Services will act as the main sponsor for each of these events, and will also host a gala dinner for all conference attendees at the various locations around the world.

"Astrium Services has a long lasting relationship with Digital Ship, a key media in the maritime market," said Tore Morten Olsen, head of maritime, Astrium Services.

"As a driver in the maritime business, we are delighted to be the new Global Sponsor of Digital Ship Events 2014. This gives us a unique opportunity to stay in close touch with the maritime market and to create a constructive dialogue on how to shape the future of satcom together."

Stuart Fryer, managing director of Digital Ship Events, welcomed Astrium Services' commitment to supporting the goals of discussion and knowledge sharing that underlie the conference series and looked forward to the company's involvement in the events in 2014.

"Digital Ship Events are extremely pleased to be collaborating with Astrium as our Global Sponsor for 2014. This partnership will reflect the mutual aims of both companies to provide the maritime industry with timely, beneficial news and information as well as strong business opportunities," he said.

"We look forward to working closely with Astrium to further develop and grow Digital Ship Events around the world."
