Marlink releases second generation XChange

Marlink reports that the second generation of its XChange communications management hardware is now available.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The new hardware has been developed based on the experiences of operating and managing XChange since its initial launch five years ago, the company said, and will support a range of new features as the XChange services and firmware are updated over time.

Two new hardware options will be made available. The ‘XChange Base’ will replace the existing  XChange Rough box, while the ‘XChange Power’ will replace the former XChange Rack Mount.

Available from August 2016, the XChange Base is a desk or rack-mountable unit with enhanced speed and capacity compared with its predecessor, and a reduced number of components for increased reliability.

The XChange Power is already available, with a much larger hard disk (up to 1TB) than the former XChange rack mount, which Marlink says is more suitable for use with Big Data applications. The unit offers improved capacity, speed and performance, and can also optionally support analogue telephony, where required.{/mprestriction}
