Lars Thrane A/S, the eponymous enterprise created by Mr Thrane in 2014 after the 2012 sale of the Thrane & Thrane company he founded with his brother Per to Cobham, has launched its first satellite communication terminal with the introduction of the LT-3100 Iridium Communications System.

The LT-3100 system has voice and data capabilities and consists of a control unit, handset, and antenna. A single coaxial cable connects the control unit with the antenna unit.

Data rates of 2.4 kbps are available, or 10 kbps for compressed data. A GNSS receiver is integrated and the unit has a Bluetooth interface supporting voice, SMS, and data connectivity.{/mprestriction}
