German maritime GSM provider bobz has launched a new RA 300 router for its shipznet system, expanding its capabilities to allow for up to six SIM cards to be integrated, improving the range of options available to users.

shipznet consists of a small above-deck unit with one radome, with the below-deck unit serving as the router and as the power supply for the above deck unit. The software built into the system has also been updated for this latest release, shipznet says.

The equipment allows for data connectivity rates up to 300 Mbps when connecting to LTE advanced technology (LTE-A) networks, and permits users to select their own mobile network providers if required.{/mprestriction}
