MSI Ship Management completes VSAT implementation

Singapore-based MSI Ship Management has completed the roll-out of Satcom Global’s Aura Ku-band VSAT service aboard a fleet of new-build cargo vessels, which came under the company’s management in 2017.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}“Our key aim is to bring value to our clients by enabling their vessels to run safely, efficiently and profitably,” said Sanjay Ramnathan, head of MSI.

“Satcom Global Aura is helping us achieve this by providing us with a dependable, high performance communications service for safe and efficient business operations at a very competitive price. We are extremely pleased with the service we are receiving and hope to extend the benefits to additional vessels under our management later this year.”

The Aura VSAT service will be provided with a guaranteed Committed Information Rate (CIR) using Intellian v100 antennas, and will be supported by a range of monitoring and diagnostic tools, including automatic alerting from the integrated IPSignature 4 ‘smart box’ to allow Satcom Global’s technical support team to begin investigation should a problem occur, without the need for the vessel to notice and report it.

“It has been a pleasure to work with MSI and deliver a solution that has been able to meet their need for quality, reliable connectivity. With past experience of VSAT deployment across their vessels, their satisfaction and appreciation of the service quality and value afforded by Aura is a true endorsement of its capabilities,” said Graeme Gordon, global commercial director at Satcom Global.{/mprestriction}
