Paramarine implemented at IIT Madras

QinetiQ’s Paramarine ship and submersible design software is to be implemented by the Ocean Engineering Center of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Madras, to support the training of its students.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The Ocean Engineering Center was established over 25 years ago by the Indian Government to act as a centre of excellence in the field as part of IIT Madras, an institution with over 8,000 students.

The Paramarine software was supplied along with preliminary training by Conceptia Software Technologies of Bangalore, the authorised local distributor for the application.

“We selected Paramarine not only because it is one of the world’s leading multi-market ship design software packages, but because it is very user friendly and offers an extensive range of functionality,” said Professor Surendran Sankunny,  IIT Madras.

“Its pedigree as naval architecture software of choice is further reinforced by the fact it is used by many universities around the world to educate and inform students.”{/mprestriction}
