BW agrees new e-commerce deal

Oslo based BW Fleet Management has signed a new three-year contract with maritime e-commerce provider EVRY, the companies report, to extend use of its services as part of a ‘parallel integration’ of different providers.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}BW Fleet Management has agreed a ‘BuyerLink’ service contract, which will allow the shipping company to use EVRY’s MarineLink Service and run it in parallel with ShipServ e-commence technology, integrated directly into its Oracle EBS Purchasing application.

BW Fleet Management has already used the MarineLink service for a number of years, managing transactions with Wilhelmsen Ships Service, Alfa Laval and engine manufacturer Wärtsilä, as well as using ShipServ for other online transactions.

“We have used the MarineLink service for many years, along with ShipServ,” explained Tor-Egil Gjulem, head of global purchasing at BW.

“We decided not to put all our eggs in one basket, and to keep both services competitive we have opted to split our purchasing 50/50 with two providers in a parallel integration. The team at EVRY made this decision an easy one and one we are very happy with.”{/mprestriction}
