“K” Line to implement CMAXS LC-A

“K” Line Ship Management in Singapore is to implement ClassNK’s machinery condition monitoring and automatic diagnostic system ClassNK CMAXS LC-A on one of its container vessels, the first commercial application of the software.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The installation comes after a successful trial installation in 2014 which created fuel and lubricating oil savings of 200 tons/year, part of a joint research project in collaboration with ClassNK and Diesel United Ltd.

ClassNK CMAXS LC-A uses diagnosis algorithms to analyse sensor data in the engine room and detect early signs of machinery damage, automatically indicating the condition of machinery in real-time, and providing relevant procedure manuals.

The system also advises on the optimum setting value for main engine operation based on the result of the automatic condition diagnosis.

Information such as sensor data and condition monitoring results are sent to and stored on the cloud database managed by Ship Data Center, a subsidiary company of ClassNK, and shared between the vessel and shipping company.{/mprestriction}
