Prevention at Sea signs new partnerships

Maritime software developer Prevention at Sea reports that it has signed two new Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs), with e-Learning company SQLEarn and mooring systems firm Katradis Marine Ropes, to explore ways of leveraging their respective capabilities to deliver new products to the shipping sector.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}SQLearn will collaborate with Prevention at Sea on the development of computer based training programmes that will include new technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), to better engage with the new generation of seafarers entering the industry.

Katradis Marine Ropes meanwhile will combine its experience in mooring systems and line management best practices with Prevention at Sea’s software to offer new options in the compilation of ships’ mooring system plans.

“I am really happy to announce the signing of these two MOUs,” said Petros Achtypis, CEO of Prevention at Sea.

“Both are very significant developments for us, as not only does the MOU with SQLearn put us at the front of innovative training techniques to enhance seafarer learning and help reduce mistakes, but the agreement with Katradis will give our clients the extra benefit of knowing that we can use our combined specialist knowledge to facilitate a robust and detailed plan for the safe management of a ship’s mooring procedures, which is so crucial in preventing serious accidents.”{/mprestriction}
