GreenSteam Manager adds new machine learning capabilities

Marine data intelligence company GreenSteam has launched a new version of its fuel saving software platform GreenSteam Manager (GSM), adding machine learning technology and a new user interface.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}GreenSteam has been developing machine learning technologies for the shipping industry for more than a decade, and has applied them to the new application to build a precise vessel performance baseline to identify fuel saving opportunities.

Advice is offered through the system dashboard displaying the amount of fuel wasted and where it was wasted, the costs incurred, and possible problem areas such as hull fouling and trim.

Beyond fuel savings, the platform also offers the ability to analyse other new technologies by assessing how they impact vessel performance.

“The new GreenSteam Manager is more of a revolution than evolution. By applying our machine learning technology to vessel data enriched with MetOcean and other data we can provide much more accurate performance baselines than those offered by traditional approaches,” said Daniel Jacobsen, GreenSteam CTO and co-founder.

“However, we wanted to go beyond that; accuracy is a great starting point, but our goal is to make it as easy as possible for users make better operational decisions. Through a user-centric design philosophy and by involving customers in the design, GSM now offers a highly intuitive user experience. You can quickly see the true performance of any vessel, highlight problem areas and make the best decisions to save fuel.”{/mprestriction}
