Klaveness and DNV GL complete world's first digital survey

DNV GL and Klaveness Ship Management have performed the world’s first digital survey on-board the containership MV Bardu.

{mprestriction ids="1,2"}The survey provided full insight into the maintenance data without the surveyor and principal engineer for DNV GL, Rolf Petter Hancke stepping on-board the vessel.

Live dashboards at the Klaveness office in Olso allowed Hancke to examine the maintenance data, saving him a trip from Norway to Shanghai.

“The dashboard we have put up does not only make my job easier in terms of time saved, but it enables me to filter to the most relevant components that I discuss with the shipowner. It tells me how many maintenance jobs MV Bardu has had in the last year and how many jobs were done before and after on due date,” explained Hancke.

Karl-Uno Holm, ship manager, Klaveness Ship Management, added: “This form of transparency of sharing of data makes it possible for DNV GL to also perform analysis of the data we have, which lets us further improve our processes around vessel maintenance. Ultimately a win-win situation for both us and Class."{/mprestriction}
