Maersk has integrated its North American e-commerce delivery services with Shipstore, giving high-volume parcel shippers access to Maersk through an existing shipping management platform. The integration shows how logistics providers are using platform connectivity to bring delivery services into the digital systems businesses already use to manage orders.
A.P. Moller-Maersk has partnered with Shipstore to connect its North American e-commerce delivery services directly to the shipping automation platform, giving businesses another way to manage Maersk shipments alongside existing carriers.
The integration is relevant to Maersk’s wider logistics strategy because the carrier is bringing its delivery network into a third-party digital workflow rather than requiring customers to manage the service separately.
Maersk delivers more than 10 million e-commerce parcels annually in North America, according to the company. Shipstore’s platform provides a single control layer for high-volume shippers, applying business rules to orders and handling labels, documentation and tracking within one workflow.
The integration allows businesses with a Maersk delivery programme to run shipments through Shipstore alongside other carriers. They can also use the platform’s existing connections with ERP, warehouse management and order management systems.
Prashant Shah, Head of E-Commerce for North America at Maersk, said: “Customers are looking for shipping solutions that are easy to use and can grow alongside their business. Through our collaboration with Shipstore, we’re making it easier for online businesses to connect with Maersk’s delivery network through a platform they already know and trust. Together, we’re helping customers simplify shipping and deliver a better experience for the people they serve.”
The arrangement puts digital integration at the heart of the customer relationship. Rather than treating shipping as a separate operational layer, Maersk’s delivery services can now sit within the same software environment used to manage orders and fulfilment.
Nick Osbern, President of Shipstore, said: “Our goal is to make shipping easier for businesses of all sizes. Adding Maersk’s delivery capabilities to the Shipstore platform gives our customers access to a trusted logistics provider, while allowing them to continue managing shipping through a single, familiar platform.”
For Maersk, the partnership adds another digital access point to its North American delivery network. For shipper and logistics teams, the change is the ability to manage Maersk parcels within an established multi-carrier workflow, with less need to switch between separate systems.
