Ofiniti has agreed to acquire ZeroNorth’s electronic bunker delivery note (eBDN) solution, bringing its technology and customers into Ofiniti’s Bunker Operating System as the company expands its digital bunkering footprint. The deal comes alongside a multimillion-dollar investment in Singapore, where Ofiniti says it holds an estimated 40% share of the digital bunkering market.
The acquisition gives shipowners, bunker suppliers and other fuel market participants access to eBDN capabilities within Ofiniti’s wider platform. The company said the transaction will preserve service continuity for existing ZeroNorth customers while bringing the solution into its digital delivery system.
Ofiniti said the acquisition is its third since becoming independent from DNV in September 2024, following Singapore-based Angsana Technology and Dutch maritime technology company Teqplay. It now serves more than 200 customers and has processed more than 50,000 bunker operations.
The move also shows how bunker management software is being consolidated around connected operational data. Tue Raguse, CEO of Ofiniti, said: “Bunkering has been built around fragmented systems, data and ways of working, and we see a huge opportunity to change that.”
ZeroNorth is narrowing its bunkering focus towards procurement, pricing and planning. “eBDN has an important role to play in the continued digitalization of fuel operations, and we are proud of what we have built,” said Søren Andersen, CEO of ZeroNorth. “We believe Ofiniti is well placed to take eBDN forward and continue developing it for the industry.”
Singapore is a major part of Ofiniti’s strategy. The company said it holds an estimated 40% share of the city-state’s digital bunkering market and is increasing its investment in local technology, talent and operations.
Bunker procurement, delivery documentation and operational data sit across multiple parties, and bringing these workflows into a shared digital system can give operators a more consistent record of fuel transactions across their fleets.
