WiseTech Global has launched a free four-week forecast that gives shippers and freight forwarders a forward view of ocean freight capacity across three major trade lanes. The tool brings aggregated supply chain data into a digital dashboard covering capacity, reliability and carrier risks, giving logistics teams more information before booking conditions change.
WiseTech Global has launched its Ocean Freight Risk Outlook, a free dashboard designed to give businesses four weeks of forward visibility into ocean freight capacity.
The tool covers three major trade lanes: Asia to North America, Asia to Europe, and Europe to North America. It combines aggregated supply chain data with WiseTech’s analysis to compare projected cargo demand with planned carrier capacity.
The approach moves beyond relying solely on historical freight data. The dashboard is designed to identify potential tightening in capacity before it appears in bookings, space availability or freight rates.
The Outlook is divided into four risk views: Trade Lane Risk, Capacity Risk, Reliability Risk and Carrier Risk. Together, they cover booking acceptance, carrier supply, on-time arrivals, port performance, transit times and service reliability.
The carrier-level view could also provide a useful digital reference when assessing how different operators are handling changing market conditions. WiseTech said carrier performance can vary significantly even when vessels are operating on the same trade lane.
Jon Charles, Product Manager at WiseTech Global, said: “Ocean freight is in a continual state of volatility, with tariffs, geopolitics and capacity pressures constantly reshaping the market. Managing uncertainty increasingly means making decisions before problems emerge. By bringing together signals on capacity, carrier performance, and booking conditions, the Ocean Freight Risk Outlook helps shippers and freight forwarders make more informed decisions about how and where they move goods.”
The free dashboard provides a four-week view, while CargoWise customers can access a more detailed eight-week outlook through the Market Intelligence and Analytics module.
Charles said the carrier data adds another layer to freight planning. “Not every carrier manages market changes the same way. Showing these differences in carrier performance and booking acceptance gives companies a clearer picture of their options when moving freight – a new perspective on this data that hasn’t been readily available until now.”
The launch shows how aggregated operational data can be turned into forward-looking intelligence rather than used solely to explain what has already happened.
